SALEM, Va. – The Emory & Henry College Softball Team (33-12) picked up a trio of wins as it blazed through the losers' bracket of the 2017 Old Dominion Athletic Conference Tournament Saturday. The Wasps eliminated three teams on the day as they advanced to the championship game of the tournament for the first time since winning the title in 2003.

Emory & Henry will take on top-seeded and No. 1 nationally-ranked Virginia Wesleyan College on Sunday at 1:00 p.m. The Wasps will have to defeat the Marlins twice in order to hoist the league's hardware.

Game 10 – #4 Emory & Henry 7, #3 Guilford 2

E&H started off the day with a 7-2 win over third-seeded Guilford College. Junior first baseman Caley Hodge (Elizabethton, Tenn.) tagged a pair of home runs, driving in five to highlight the game. Hodge now holds the Emory & Henry record for home runs in a career (25).

Junior right-hander Emily Kendrick (Honaker, Va.) earned the complete-game victory, allowing just two runs on seven hits with two strikeouts. The win was her 18th of the year, breaking the E&H record.

Game 12 - #4 Emory & Henry 3, #5 Lynchburg 0

The Wasps kept rolling late Saturday afternoon with a 3-0 win over the fifth-seeded Hornets of Lynchburg College. Hodge was again the difference-maker, driving in the first two runs of the game with a double to left center in the third.

With two outs in the top of the seventh and runners on first and second, E&H sophomore centerfielder Erin Anderson (Aylett, Va.) made a diving catch to seal the victory. It was the Wasps' second win over Lynchburg in as many days and the third this week.

Freshman Tiffany Cole (Wise, Va.) picked up the victory, scattering six hits and two strikeouts over six-plus innings of work. Kendrick got the save, a record-tying fifth of the season, as she completed the shutout for the Wasps.

Game 13 - #4 Emory & Henry 2, #2 Randolph-Macon 1

Emory & Henry punched its ticket to the ODAC Championship with a win over the Yellow Jackets. In the top of the second the Wasps got back-to-back sacrifice flies from sophomore right fielder Rachel Smoot (Riner, Va.) and senior third baseman Ragan Halsey (Hillsville, Va.) to take a 2-0 lead.

The Yellow Jackets cut the margin to 2-1 in the bottom of the frame but would get no closer as Kendrick pitched another gem in the circle with one run on five hits with four strikeouts.
