Emory & Henry Softball Receives Votes In NFCA Division III Top 25 Poll

LOUISVILLE, Ky. – The Emory & Henry College Softball Team is receiving votes in the NFCA Division III Top 25 Poll, NFCA officials announced Wednesday. The NFCA is the National Fastpitch Coaches Association. It is the first time in program history that E&H has been considered for a spot in the Top 25 of Division III softball.

The Wasps, who finished as the runner-up in the 2017 Old Dominion Athletic Conference Tournament, have put together a 34-13 record this season for the highest win total in program history. E&H won five games in the league tournament including four against regionally-ranked opponents.

Emory & Henry is one of three ODAC schools to be mentioned in the poll as league champion Virginia Wesleyan College remains the No. 1 team in the country while Randolph-Macon College is tied for 18th.

Rounding out the top five this week are Berry College, Luther College, the University of Texas-Tyler and Texas Lutheran University.

Emory & Henry will now await the release of the field for the 2017 NCAA Division III Tournament which will come on Monday, May 8 at 1:00 p.m. The pairings will be announced live on NCAA.com.
