Emory & Henry Softball Sees Nine Honored For Academic Achievement

LOUISVILLE, Ky. – The Emory & Henry College Softball Team has seen nine of its players named Easton/NFCA All-America Scholar-Athletes, NFCA officials announced this week. The NFCA is the National Fastpitch Coaches Association.

"I am extremely proud of our team for striving for excellence in all that they do," said Head Coach Tommy Forrester. "These women are superb student-athletes, who excel in so many aspects. I'm glad to see their hard work in the classroom recognized by the NFCA."

Tabbed as All-America Scholar-Athletes from E&H were seniors Riley Pudney (Beech Mountain, Va.) and Brittany Scott (Elizabethton, Tenn.); juniors Leah Elswick (Honaker, Va.) and Bailey Williams (Wilmington, N.C.); and sophomores Erin Anderson (Aylett, Va.), Holly Britt (Floyd, Va.), Madison McClanahan (Abingdon, Va.), Rachel Smoot (Riner, Va.) and Amanda Whitlow (Riner, Va.).

Qualifications for the award require the player to be a varsity letterwinner and to achieve a grade-point average of 3.5 or better during the 2016-17 academic year.
