LOUISVILLE, Ky. – The Emory & Henry College Softball Team is receiving votes in the NFCA Division III Top 25 Poll, NFCA officials announced Wednesday. The NFCA is the National Fastpitch Coaches Association. It is the second time in program history that E&H has been considered for a spot in the Top 25 of Division III softball.

Last year, upon finishing as the runner-up in the Old Dominion Athletic Conference Tournament, the Wasps made their first-ever appearance in the poll en route to an at-large bid in the NCAA Division III Tournament.

Emory & Henry is one of three ODAC schools to be mentioned in the poll as defending national champion Virginia Wesleyan College is the unanimous No. 1 team in the country while Randolph-Macon College moves up seven spots to No. 5.

Rounding out the top five this week are Texas Lutheran University, the University of Texas-Tyler, and Williams College. Case Western Reserve University, an E&H opponent from earlier in the year, enters the poll at No. 22 this week.

Emory & Henry will travel to Lookout Mountain, Georgia on Friday and face off against Covenant College in its penultimate non-conference doubleheader of the season. First pitch is set for 1:00 p.m.
