FOREST, Va. – By virtue of its second-place finish in the Old Dominion Athletic Conference this season, Emory & Henry College Softball Team has earned the #2 seed for the ODAC Tournament, league officials announced Wednesday.
Each of the top-four seeds will host best-of-three series to start the tournament this weekend. The event will continue with two more series on Wednesday and Thursday, May 5-6. The champion will be determined over the May 8-9 weekend with the final series at the highest remaining seed. The previously mentioned dates should be considered flexible as the event works through possible weather situations and commencement ceremonies.

E&H (23-5), which posted a 13-3 record in conference action this year, is also ranked No. 10 in the country by the National Fastpitch Coaches Association. The Wasps will host seventh-seeded Ferrum College (16-20, 7-11 ODAC) in their best-of-three quarterfinal series on Sunday and Monday. Saturday's games will be played at 1:00 p.m. and 3:00 p.m., with the 'if-necessary' game set for 3:00 p.m. Monday.
In their regular-season meeting on Thursday, April 15, the Wasps defeated the Panthers by scores of 8-1 and 1-0. This will be the second-straight time that E&H and FC have met to open the ODAC Tournament. Emory & Henry grabbed an 11-1 'run-rule' victory in five innings to begin the 2019 postseason on their way to a third-place finish and an at-large berth in the NCAA Division III Tournament.
With a win in the quarterfinal series, Emory & Henry will host the winner of #3 University of Lynchburg and #6 Guilford College on Wednesday, May 5 with the 'if-necessary' game to be played on Thursday, May 6.
