Emory & Henry Softball Returns To Ninth In The NFCA Top 25 Poll

LOUISVILLE, Ky. – The Emory & Henry College Softball Team returns to its program-best ranking of No. 9 in NCAA Division III according to the National Fastpitch Coaches Association's latest poll which was released Wednesday morning. The Wasps move up one spot after winning their Old Dominion Athletic Conference Tournament quarterfinal series against Ferrum College over the weekend.

E&H (25-5, 13-3 ODAC) has now won 25 games in each of the past four complete seasons dating back to 2017. Virginia Wesleyan University (33-5-1, 15-3 ODAC) remains the national No. 2 after winning its quarterfinal series with Shenandoah University. Also represented from the league is No. 17 Randolph-Macon College (14-7-1, 6-4 ODAC) which is idle for the ODAC Tournament due to COVID-19 concerns.

Texas Lutheran University remains the unanimous No. 1 for a second week in a row. Following VWU is a new No. 3 in DePauw University while No. 4 Moravian College leaps five spots from a week ago. Birmingham-Southern College falls two spots to round out the top five. Each of the top nine teams in the country are unanimous picks for their spots. Previous E&H opponent, Christopher Newport University is T-No. 12 this week after being ranked as high as third earlier in the season.

E&H, the #2 seed in the ODAC Tournament, will be back on the field Wednesday as it hosts #3 University of Lynchburg in the semifinals at 3:00 p.m. Thursday's 'if-necessary' game will be played at 1:00 p.m.
