LOUISVILLE, Ky. – Following its semifinal finish in the Old Dominion Athletic Conference Tournament, the Emory & Henry College Softball Team is ranked No. 15 this week by the National Fastpitch Coaches Association. The Wasps fall six spots from last week's program high-water mark of No. 9 in NCAA Division III.

E&H (26-7, 13-3 ODAC) fell by a two-games-to-one series score in the ODAC Tournament to University of Lynchburg last week. The Hornets ended up as the tournament runner-up to T-No. 2 Virginia Wesleyan University which claimed its fifth-straight league title. Also represented from the league is No. 17 Randolph-Macon College (14-7-1, 6-4 ODAC) which was idle for the ODAC Tournament due to COVID-19 concerns.

Texas Lutheran University remains the unanimous No. 1 for a third week in a row. Tied with VWU is DePauw University which moves up from the No. 3 spot. Moravian College and Birmingham-Southern College hold steady at fourth and fifth respectively to round out the top five. Previous E&H opponent, Christopher Newport University is No. 11 this week after being ranked as high as third earlier in the season while Transylvania University returns to the poll at No. 23 after falling out of national consideration for the past five weeks.

Emory & Henry awaits the announcement of the 48-team field for this year's NCAA Division III Tournament. The Wasps are chasing one of five at-large bids which will be awarded to the top programs in the country who did not earn their conference's automatic qualification. The selection show will be streamed on NCAA.com on the afternoon of Monday, May 17.
