Emory & Henry Women’s Basketball Routs Wesleyan (Ga.), 92-38, Saturday Afternoon

MACON, Ga. – The Emory & Henry College Women's Basketball Team evened its season record at 2-2 with a 92-38 dismantling of Wesleyan (Ga.) College (0-3) Saturday afternoon on the road. It is the second-straight game that the Wasps have won by a 54-point margin.

Emory & Henry got out to a 54-28 halftime lead thanks to 12 first-half points by junior forward Tamara Brewster (Morrow, Ga.). The Wasps kept rolling in the second half allowing only 10 points by the Pioneers en route to the 92-38 victory. It was the fewest points allowed in a half by E&H in over 15 years.

The 38 points scored by Wesleyan are the fewest allowed by an Emory & Henry team since Washington and Lee scored 36 on January 11, 2014 in Emory.

Brewster finished with a career-high 15 points while senior guard Kristie Langley (Staley, N.C.) and junior forward Karina Farr (Graham, Wash.) added 14 points each. Freshman guard Chloe Harris (Bristol, Va.) scored 10 points and sophomore guard Megan Jacoby (Richmond, Va.) had nine points as 13 of the 14 Wasps that saw action in the game made a mark in the scoring column.

Farr added 10 rebounds in the game while Jacoby had six boards, eight assists and four steals. Freshman forward Taylor Greenway (Burnt Chimney, Va.) had six points and eight rebounds while Harris notched fie rebounds, five assists and three steals.

Alyssa Whitford led the way for the Pioneers, scoring 12 points while Krysta Woods added seven points and four rebounds. Diamond Hudson notched five points, three rebounds, four assists and seven steals in the game.

Emory & Henry will continue its tour of the Peach State on Sunday when it takes on Oglethorpe University at 2:00 p.m.
