Emory & Henry Women’s Basketball Ranked No. 9 In NCAA Division III South Region

INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. – The Emory & Henry College Women's Basketball Team holds the number nine spot in the third NCAA Division III South Region Rankings of the 2016-17 season, NCAA officials announced Wednesday. E&H is one of three Old Dominion Athletic Conference programs ranked in the top nine regionally.

Emory & Henry (18-7, 12-4 ODAC), which has won 12 of its last 16 games, returns to the rankings in the number nine spot after a week off. The Wasps earned a bye to the Quarterfinals of the ODAC Tournament for the third year in a row. It is the fourth time in the past two seasons that the Wasps have been ranked regionally by the NCAA.

Trinity (Texas) University (24-1) and the University of Texas-Dallas remain in the top two spots for the third week in a row. Joining E&H from the ODAC in the regional rankings are Guilford College (third) and Lynchburg College (fourth).

Emory & Henry, the #3 seed in this weekend's ODAC Tournament, will take on eleventh-seeded Shenandoah University on Friday evening in the quarterfinals. The Wasps swept the Hornets by scores of 103-43 and 64-40 during the regular season.
