FOREST, Va. – The Emory & Henry College Women's Basketball Team is projected to finish sixth in the Old Dominion Athletic Conference this season, ODAC officials announced Thursday. The poll was voted on by the 12 programs which will compete in this year's campaign.

Reigning ODAC Coach of the Year, Jaclyn Dickens, led the Wasps to a 22-5 (15-3 ODAC) record in her first season at the helm of her alma mater. E&H earned the #1 seed in the ODAC Tournament after being picked to finish sixth and reached the league semifinals, falling to eventual champion Randolph-Macon College.

Emory & Henry saw each of its three seniors named to the All-ODAC Teams last year with Peyton Williams and Sydney McKinney earning first-team honors. Williams was also tabbed as ODAC Co-Defensive Player of the Year. McKinney will transition into a coaching role with the Wasps this season.

Roanoke College was picked to win the conference title this year, earning six of the 12 first-place votes. Washington and Lee University and Bridgewater College are second and third, respectively, evenly splitting the other six top billings. University of Lynchburg and Shenandoah University round out the top five in the poll.

Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the ODAC created a single round-robin schedule with 11 conference games for each team (Hollins University will not be competing this year). The ODAC Tournament will feature four teams for 2021 with tournament games taking place on-campus this year. Fans are reminded that per conference policy, spectators are not permitted at indoor events for the spring 2021 semester. Fans are encouraged to tune in online at www.GoWasps.com/live.

Emory & Henry will begin the 2020-21 season on Saturday when it visits Eastern Mennonite University at 2:00 p.m. The Wasps will have a quick turnaround as they play their first home game against Roanoke College on Sunday at 3:00 p.m.
