Alexis Hoppers Named ODAC Women’s Basketball Player Of The Week

FOREST, Va. – Emory & Henry College junior center Alexis Hoppers has been selected as the Old Dominion Athletic Conference Women's Basketball Player of the Week, ODAC officials announced Monday.

The Sparta, North Carolina native led E&H (5-7, 4-4 ODAC) to a 1-1 record last week, averaging 21 points and 13.5 rebounds per game. Hoppers shot 53.8 percent (14-for-26) from the field and hit 13-of-14 (92.9%) of her free throw across the two games.

Thursday evening against Ferrum College, Hoppers led the Wasps' comeback with 21 points on 9-for-14 shooting and 14 rebounds. In Saturday's setback to Shenandoah University, the Alleghany High School product put up another 21 points and went 11-for-12 at the free throw line.

Emory & Henry will play in the 2021 ODAC Women's Basketball Tournament later this week. The field for the tournament will be announced by the league office Monday evening.
