Emory & Henry Women’s Golf Competes In Greene Turtle Invitational Saturday

FRONT ROYAL, Va. – The Emory & Henry College Women's Golf Team closed out the competitive portion of its fall season on Saturday at Shenandoah University's Greene Turtle Invitational. The tournament was scheduled for a two-round, 36-hole format.

Round One
Senior Ashley Underwood (Strawberry Plains, Tenn.) posted a 97 (+25) to start the day while junior Chandler Thomas (Elizabethton, Tenn.) carded a +27 (99).

Round Two
Underwood make it back-to-back rounds of 97 to finish at +50 overall and in 24th place. Thomas shaved three strokes off her first round with a 96 (+24) and ended the event tied for 25th.

The Winners
University of Lynchburg's Lily Self won her second tournament in five days and third this fall as she shot a +14 (158) for the event. She defeated teammate Maddie Cody by four shots.

Marymount University won the team title with a score of 691 (+115), defeating the Lynchburg Hornets by 11 strokes. The Saints put three players in the top 12 and ties.
