Emory & Henry Women’s Golf Opens Play At The 2021 ODAC Championship Sunday

BROWNS SUMMIT, N.C. – The Emory & Henry College Women's Golf Team got the postseason started at the 2021 Old Dominion Athletic Conference Championship on Sunday. This year's championship is being contested as a two-day, 36-hole event.

Emory & Henry
Freshman Emily Smelcer (Walland, Tenn.) is tied for 15th after Sunday's round, shooting a +18 (90) while freshman McKenna Quillen (Abingdon, Va.) sits in 30th after carding a 108 (+36).

The Leaders
No. 19 nationally-ranked Megan Kanaby of Washington and Lee University leads the field after firing a +1 (73). Teammate Grace Owens is four shots back in second after a round of 77 (+5).

As a team, No. 13 Washington and Lee put up a score of 322 (+34) in the first round to lead No. 35 University of Lynchburg by eight strokes. The Generals have four players in the top 11 of the field Hornets are on the verge of striking with four players in the top eight.
