Emory & Henry Women’s Golf Opens The Year At The Bruins Golf Classic Friday

GREENVILLE, S.C. – The Emory & Henry College Women's Golf Team got the 2021-22 season started on Friday at the Bruins Golf Classic, hosted by Bob Jones University. The Wasps sit in second place out of four competing teams through 18 holes of play.

Emory & Henry
Freshman Lexi Humbert (Greeneville, Tenn.) is tied for third place after day one, carding a +11 (82) while frehman Briah Frisbee (Leicester, N.C.) sits in eighth with a score of 87 (+16).

Sophomore Emily Smelcer (Walland, Tenn.) grabbed a top-10 with an 88 (+17) as she is tied for ninth while sophomore McKenna Quillen (Abingdon, Va.) posted a 96 (+25) and is tied for 14th.

Freshman Maggie Jolly (Troutman, N.C.) rounds out the field for E&H and sits 21st with a round of 112.

The Leaders
Spartanburg Methodist College's Jessica Edwards leads the field after carding a +8 (79) after day one. Amani Narang of Sweet Briar College is one stroke back at +9.

SMC is atop the team leaderboard with a score of 346 (+62) with two players in the top five. Emory & Henry is second at +69 (353).
