
CHUCKEY, Tenn. – The Emory & Henry College Women's Golf Team continued its spring slate at the Agnes McAmis Memorial, hosted by Tusculum University. The Wasps finished seventh out of nine competing teams.

Day One - Monday
Sophomore Emily Smelcer (Walland, Tenn.) shot an 80 (+8) in round one. She recorded an ace on the 149-yard fifth hole of the "Knobs Nine" to highlight her round.
Freshman Lexi Humbert (Greeneville, Tenn.) shot an 85 (+13) on Monday while freshman Reece Chasteen (Lake City, Fla.) carded a +25 (97). Sophomore McKenna Quillen (Abingdon, Va.) and freshman Maggie Jolly (Troutman, N.C.) each notched a 99.
Day Two – Tuesday
Smelcer finished the tournament tied for 28th, posting a 91 (+19) on Tuesday. Humbert went for a +15 (87) to take 30th while Chasteen recorded an 84 (+12) to tie for 34th.
Jolly went for a 90 in the second round to finish 38th overall while Quillen rounded out the team, turning in a 100 to tie for 41st.
The Winners
Tusculum's Nilubol Panno was the medalist at +2 (76-70 – 146) as she beat Sasha Gardiner of King (Tenn.) University and Milligan University's Alayna Peryyman in a playoff.
The Pioneers claimed the team championship as well at +28 (305-299 – 604) beating Milligan (+41) by 13 shots.
Up Next
Emory & Henry will be back in action next week when it competes in the St. Andrews Invitational. The two-day, 36-hole event will be played at Deercroft Golf Club in Wagram, North Carolina.
