Emory & Henry Women’s Lacrosse Falls to Lincoln Memorial In Season Finale

HARROGATE, Tenn. – The Emory & Henry College Women's Lacrosse Team (1-16, 0-10 SAC) wrapped up its inaugural season with a loss in South Atlantic Conference play to Lincoln Memorial University (6-10, 5-5 SAC) Wednesday afternoon. LMU took the win by a 24-2 final score.

How It Happened
- The Lady Railsplitters came out firing on all cylinders as they tallied 10 goals in the first quarter and seven more in the second stanza to take a 17-0 margin into the half.
- LMU scored the first two goals of the half until junior attacker Mina Hicks (Lexington Park, Md.) found the back of the net on a free-position shot to break up the shutout. The home team added five more unanswered, but sophomore midfielder Justyce Jones (Jacksonville, N.C.) buried a shot with 28 seconds remaining on the clock to round out the scoring at the 24-2 final. 

Emory & Henry Individual Leaders
- Hicks finished with one goal, three draw controls and a ground ball while Jones had one goal and five draw controls. Sophomore attacker Logan Pekala (Vinton, Va.) posted a team-high three ground balls. Sophomore defender Riley Firebaugh (Roanoke, Va.), freshman midfielder Bri Leech (Forest, Va.) and freshman attacker Brooklyn Halter (Alcoa, Tenn.) all finished with a caused turnover.
- Freshman goalkeeper Madison Rossi-Dupas (Kingston, Tenn.) had six saves and a pair of ground balls in goal for the Wasps.

Lincoln Memorial Individual Leaders
- Deadre Jackson and Rudi Lyles each recorded a match-high four goals while Amber Kirkpatrick finished with three scores. Chandler Bell added two goals and a match-high 11 assists with two ground balls and a caused turnover.
- Elle Miller and Keegan Gillman combined for three saves in net for the Lady Railsplitters in the win.
