Four From Emory & Henry Men's Wrestling To Compete In NCWA National Championships

ALLEN, Texas - In just its first full season of competition, the Emory & Henry College Men's Wrestling Team will be represented at the NCWA National Championships. The Wasps send four student-athletes to the tournament by virtue of their finishes at the NCWA Mid-Atlantic Conference Championships two weeks ago.

Competing for Emory & Henry is freshman Tito Hernandez (Shelbyville, Tenn.) at 125 pounds, freshman Levi Field (Manassas, Va.) at 157 pounds, sophomore Austin McBee (Shelbyville, Tenn.) at 197 pounds and sophomore Wade Wheeler (Amherst, Va.) at 285 pounds. Wheeler and Field finished in third place that the MAC Championships while Hernandez and McBee were sixth.

Additionally, Wheeler enters the national meet as the No. 6-ranked 285-pound wrester while Field is ranked 11th at 157 pounds.

The 2022 NCWA National Championships will run from Thursday through Saturday at the Credit Union of Texas Event Center. National Champions will be crowned and All-Americans acknowledged on Saturday.
