Maria Ramos is entering her first year as Head Women's Wrestling Coach at Emory & Henry University. Ramos joins the collegiate coaching ranks after a successful college career at Campbellsville University in Kentucky. During her four years with the Tigers, Ramos wrestled at the 109- and 116-pound weight classes and helped lead the team to the WCWA Women's National Championship and the NWCA Women's National Dual Championship in 2018.

Ramos' wrestling experience began when she was in eighth grade. She became the first girl in VHSL history to make the finals of the Virginia State Tournament, taking state runner-up honors in 2015. In addition to competing, she has coached multiple teams and age groups of wrestlers.

Ramos graduated from Campbellsville in 2019 with a bachelor's degree in Spanish Education. She resides in Chilhowie with her husband, Tyler Young.
