BLUEFIELD, W.Va. – Continuous lightning and deteriorating field conditions caused the Emory & Henry College Women's Soccer Team to abandon its match with Bluefield College in the 40th minute Tuesday evening.

The Wasps and Lady Rams attempted to restart the match on two separate occasions after delays of 30 and 50 minutes, but at the third stoppage both coaches agreed to put a halt to the competition.

The coaches will look to make the match up at some point later in the season.

Emory & Henry will next take the field on Friday evening at 7:30 p.m. when it hosts Covenant College at Fred Selfe Stadium. The contest will be the second match of E&H's inaugural invitational tournament which will run from Friday to Sunday and feature three women's and three men's matches.
