EMORY, Va. – The Emory & Henry College Department of Athletics and Director of Athletics Myra Sims are pleased to announce the hiring of McCallie Jones as Head Women's Soccer Coach. Jones, who has spent the past two seasons as an assistant coach at Goucher College in Baltimore, Maryland, will begin her duties at E&H on March 1.

"I am very excited that McCallie will be joining our staff," commented Sims. "She is a bright, talented young coach who has a strong vision for how she wants to develop the program. Having worked as a full-time assistant coach at the Division III level has given her the full array of experiences in the day-to-day management of a college women's soccer program."

While at Goucher, Jones has assisted in all aspects of the Gophers' women's soccer program and has served in roles as recruiting coordinator and academic advisor. She has worked extensively in player development, team operations and fundraising all while attending graduate school. Jones also has coaching experience with the Baltimore Celtic and Lutherville-Timonium Soccer Clubs in the Baltimore area and the Ralph Lundy Soccer Academy, United Soccer Academy, West Ashley High School and Charleston Soccer Academy from Charleston, South Carolina.

"McCallie has extensive experience with recruiting, both in terms of player evaluation and the administrative side of recruiting," Sims added. "I am confident that she will be able to recruit well to E&H, given that experience, her knowledge of Division III and her familiarity with the clubs and good programs in the Mid-Atlantic region. I am also pleased that she is interested in developing not just the soccer ability of our student-athletes, but also in helping to prepare them for successful lives outside of soccer."

Jones was a four-year letterwinner at the College of Charleston where she scored 11 goals and 12 assists in 65 career matches played. She finished her career with over 4,000 minutes played. Jones also played from 2010-15 with the Charlotte Lady Eagles of the USL W-League and was named an all-conference player in 2013.

"I am extremely honored and excited to take this position and become part of the E&H community," said Jones. "I'd like to thank Myra Sims and the entire search committee for this amazing opportunity and for entrusting me to lead the women's soccer program. I look forward to being on campus with the student-athletes, as well as investing in the players and tapping into what will make this program consistently competitive in the ODAC."

Jones earned a Bachelor of Arts in communication with minors in coaching and psychology from the College of Charleston in 2014. She will earn a Master of Education with emphases in athletic program leadership and administration from Goucher this spring. Jones is a member of the National Soccer Coaches Association of America and holds a USSF D License from the United States Soccer Federation.
