Brevard Women’s Soccer Shuts Out Emory & Henry, 3-0, Friday Evening

BREVARD, N.C. – The Brevard College Women's Soccer Team (3-2) picked up a 3-0 shutout win over visiting Emory & Henry College (1-4, 0-0 ODAC) Friday evening in non-conference action. The Tornados are in their first season of transition from NCAA Division II to Division III with plans to join the USA South Athletic Conference.

How It Happened
- Brevard got on the board at the 18:49 mark of the game thanks to an unassisted goal by Megan Shina.
- Coming out of the half up 1-0, the Tornados pushed the advantage to 3-0 thanks to a pair of quick goals. Shina made it a brace (two goals) on the day with a score in the 51stt minute while Alyviah Holland found paydirt 1:17 later, assisted by Kassidy Hunsaker.

Emory & Henry Individual Leaders
- Freshman defender Skylar Wall (Suffolk, Va.) had two shots in the contest.
- Senior goalkeeper Kayla Wright (Franklin County, Va.) posted 11 saves in 90 minutes of play.

Brevard Individual Leaders
- Shina paced the BC team with two goals on four shots while Kaylee Smith also had four attempts.
- Rebeccah Rojas picked up the win in goal, stopping three shots in 73:25. Hannah Weatherall finished the match to solidify the shutout.

- Emory & Henry will next take the field on Wednesday, September 20 when it travels to face Ferrum College. Kickoff will be at 6:00 p.m.
