"Much like last season, our spot [in the poll] is indicative of how we finished last year," commented Head Coach McCallie Winstead. "Now into our second year together, it is evident the players have more confidence going into the season. The competition level in the ODAC is always tough so I'm excited to see how far we will push ourselves this fall."

In 2017, the Wasps earned ODAC victories over Hollins University, Randolph College and Sweet Briar College. E&H also played Guilford College to a scoreless draw and saw six of their losses decided by two goals or less.

The University of Lynchburg is the favorite to win the league this fall earning seven first-place votes. Virginia Wesleyan University is second with five top nods while Washington and Lee University is third. Bridgewater College grabbed the other two first-place considerations in fourth and Roanoke College rounds out the top five.

Emory & Henry will open the season on Friday, August 31 when it hosts Brevard College. Kickoff between the Wasps and Tornados is set for 7:00 p.m.
