FOREST, Va. – The Emory & Henry College Women's Soccer Team has been picked to finish 12th in the Old Dominion Athletic Conference this season, ODAC officials announced Tuesday. The poll is voted on by the 14 head coaches in the league.

Last year, E&H picked up a pair of league wins over Hollins University and Sweet Briar College. The Wasps also battled Milligan College to a scoreless draw and seven of the team's losses came by two or fewer goals.

Emory & Henry welcomes a class of young talent with 13 freshmen set to suit up this fall. They are joined by 11 returners whose experience in the ever-challenging ODAC and NCAA Division III South Region will help lessen the learning curve as the team builds its culture, chemistry and cohesion.

Perennial powerhouse University of Lynchburg is favored to win its ninth league title in the last 10 years with 10 of 14 first-place votes. A victory for the Hornets this year would give them an ODAC-record 17 championships all coming since 1997.

Virginia Wesleyan University and Bridgewater College sit close together in second and third, respectively, as the two squads split the remaining four top nods evenly. Randolph-Macon College and Washington and Lee University round out the top five.

Emory & Henry will open the season against Brevard College for the second season in a row. The Wasps will visit the Tornados on Friday at 7:00 p.m.
