Randolph-Macon Women’s Soccer Slips Past Emory & Henry, 1-0, Sunday Afternoon

EMORY, Va. – The Randolph-Macon College Women's Soccer Team (1-2-1, 1-1-1 ODAC) scored the lone goal of the match 2:13 into the second half for a 1-0 win over Emory & Henry College (0-5, 0-5 ODAC) Sunday afternoon.

How It Happened
- The opening 45 minutes saw the two teams trade possession with R-MC leading 11-3 on shots.
- Early in the 48th minute, the Yellow Jackets got on the board as Erin Lee played a pass across the six-yard box to Nicole Crzyzewski who put it in the back of the net for the score.
- Both squads had chances as the second half played out with Emory & Henry's best opportunity coming in the final minute. After earning a free kick at the top of the box, Wasp sophomore midfielder Grace Williams (Earlysville, Va.) put a shot target at the left post but the Yellow Jacket goalkeeper was there to preserve the 1-0 final score.

Emory & Henry Individual Leaders
- Williams finished the match with a team-high three shots while sophomores Carly Walden (Christiansburg, Va.), Amber Altice (Rocky Mount, Va.) and Ashlee Jordan (Boones Mill, Va.) also had shots on goal.
- Sophomore Natalie Capone (Kannapolis, N.C.) made 17 saves in the contest despite the loss.

Randolph-Macon Individual Leaders
- Czyzewski scored her goal on six shots while Meghan Skevington put five of her nine attempts on target.
- Abby Cook earned the clean sheet between the posts for R-MC, making four saves.

A Deeper Look
- Randolph-Macon held a 29-6 advantage on shots including a 17-4 margin on shots on goal.
- The Yellow Jackets also led, 5-1, on corner kicks.
