Emory & Henry Women’s Soccer Muscles Past Eastern Mennonite, 5-1, Saturday Night

EMORY, Va. – The Emory & Henry College Women's Soccer Team (8-3-2) scored five unanswered goals on its way to a convincing 5-1 win over Eastern Mennonite University (3-10-1) Saturday night at home.

How It Happened
- The Royals jumped out to a 1-0 lead just 3:03 into the contest as Hailey Smith played a long pass across the defense for Ashley Iscoa to run onto and put in the back of the net.
- E&H equalized in the 22nd minute when freshman forward Camilla Dobraniecki (Chesapeake, Va.) took a pass down the endline from sophomore forward Adrienne Harris (Hillsville, Va.) and bounced a shot off the crossbar and into the goal.
- In the 37th minute, junior midfielder Helen Frazier (Vienna, Va.) put her name in the scoring column when she cleaned up a deflection from sophomore forward Maddie Hummel's (Spotsylvania, Va.) attempt.
- The Wasps made it a 3-1 contest at the half thanks to a goal by Hummel, who put a one-time finish on a cross from the left corner by Dobraniecki.
- In the second half E&H scored another two times in the span of six minutes for the final 5-1 margin. Freshman midfielder Olivia Haynes (Spotsylvania, Va.) got a goal off a corner kick in the 77th minute with junior midfielder Grace Williams (Earlysville, Va.) earning the assist while Frazier cleaned up another loose ball with 7:11 to play, this time off a shot by sophomore defender Sophie Graham (Radford, Va.).

Emory & Henry Individual Leaders
- Frazier led the Wasps with two goals on three attempts while Dobraniecki had a goal and an assist on five shots.
- Hummel also tallied a goal and an assist in the contest as she took three chances.
- Sophomore Asia Baldwin (Mars Hill, N.C.) picked up the win between the pipes, making four saves.

Eastern Mennonite Individual Leaders
- Iscoa's goal came on three shots with two going on target while Samm Livermore and Hailey Smith also took three attempts.
- Aja Laun suffered the loss in goal despite stopping six shots.

Up Next
- Emory & Henry closes out the season next Sunday at 2:00 p.m., when it hosts Warren Wilson College on Senior Day. The Wasps defeated the Owls, 4-0, in their first meeting of the season.
