Emory & Henry Women’s Soccer Earns 2-0 Senior Day Win Over Warren Wilson Sunday

EMORY, Va. – The Emory & Henry College Women's Soccer Team (8-3-2) closed out the season in strong form with a 2-0 win against Warren Wilson College (1-12) Sunday afternoon at home.

The match also served as Senior Day for the Wasps, who honored Yasmin Thorpe (Mount Airy, Md.), Callie McMurray (Gate City, Va.), Michaela Weber (Christiansburg, Va.), Mary Baldwin (Appomattox, Va.), Taylor Mauldin (China Grove, N.C.), Jill Nix (Mechanicsville, Va.) and Makenzie Mendler (Fuquay-Varina, N.C.) prior to kickoff.

How It Happened
- Emory & Henry got on the board just 3:45 into the contest as freshman midfielder Karlijn Keuters (The Hague, NETHERLANDS) dribbled though the defense after a throw in and put a strike on the inside of the left post.
- The Wasps made it a 2-0 contest in the 20th minute as junior defender Ashlee Jordan (Boones Mill, Va.) laid a pass off for Nix, who hit a turnaround shot at the top of the box.
- In the second half, E&H continued to assert its dominance on the way to the 2-0 win. All 23 players that suited up for the Wasps played in the match.

Emory & Henry Individual Leaders
- Junior forward Amber Altice (Rocky Mount, Va.) and sophomore forward Adrienne Harris (Hillsville, Va.) each had three shots in the contest.
- Nix scored her goal on her only attempt while Keuters' found the back of the net with two shots.
- Sophomore goalkeeper Asia Baldwin (Mars Hill, N.C.) made one save in goal as she earned her first shutout.

Warren Wilson Individual Leaders
- Malory Monroe posted the only shot of the game for the Owls.
- Carrigan Causby made two saves in the first half, despite allowing two goals while Pamela Moore have three saves in the second 45 minutes.
