Emory & Henry’s Lauren Frizzell Named ODAC Swimmer Of The Week

FOREST, Va. – Emory & Henry College freshman Lauren Frizzell has been selected as the Old Dominion Athletic Conference Swimmer of the Week, ODAC officials announced Monday. It is the first time in program history that a Wasp has earned the honor.

The Blacksburg, Va. native led Emory & Henry to a 115-56 win over Ferrum College in its first dual meet of the year Friday evening at the E&H Aquatics Center. The Wasps won all 11 events in the meet and went one-two in three races as no Panthers swimmer finished ahead of a Wasp.

Frizzell won all three of her events, setting three school records in the process. She went 10:07.22 in the 800-meter freestyle and immediately swam a 2:15.73 in the 200-meter freestyle. Later in the meet, Frizzell clocked a 4:42.35 in the 400-meter free.

Emory & Henry will return to action on Friday afternoon when it travels to Roanoke face Hollins University. The meet is scheduled to start at 4:00 p.m.
