Mackenzie Lingle Named ODAC Women’s Swimmer of the Week

FOREST, Va. – Emory & Henry College sophomore Mackenzie Lingle has been selected as the Old Dominion Athletic Conference Women's Swimmer of the Week, ODAC officials announced Monday. It is the second time this year that an E&H swimmer has won the award and marks the first time in Lingle's career.

Emory & Henry earned a trio of dual meet wins over Greensboro College, Randolph-Macon College and Ferrum College Saturday on the GC campus. The Wasps won 12 of the 14 events on the day led by Lingle with four victories.

The Roanoke, Virginia native started the day off with a win, swimming the anchor leg of the 200-yard medley relay (1:54.22). She earned individual wins in the 100-yard freestyle (:54.84), 100-yard butterfly (1:00.75) and the 200-yard individual medley (2:18.62).

E&H has completed the dual meet portion of its season and will next compete in the 2016 Old Dominion Athletic Conference Championships. The three-day event will be held from Friday, February 12 to Sunday, February 14 at the Greensboro Aquatics Center.
