ESSEX FELLS, N.J. - The Emory & Henry College Women's Swimming Team has once again compiled one of the best grade-point averages among NCAA Division III programs. The Wasps earned a collective GPA of 3.50 for the fall semester of 2016.

Emory & Henry makes it five-straight terms in which it has earned Scholar All-America Team honors from the College Swimming Coaches Association of America (CSCAA). For the fall semester, 151 different NCAA Division III women's programs achieved the Scholar All-America standard.

"We are very honored to receive this award and proud of the team for all the hard work they put into their studies," said Head Women's Swimming Coach Cody Skinner. "The team exemplifies the 'Blue Collar Gold Standard' work ethic that each student-athlete at E&H should live up to."

E&H is second among six Old Dominion Athletic Conference schools with Scholar All-America Teams. Washington and Lee University (3.54), Hollins University (3.27), Bridgewater College (3.23), Greensboro Coollege (3.21) and Sweet Briar College (3.04) also received the recognition.

The Wasps are performing at a high level in the pool as well this season, posting a 3-1 overall record. Emory & Henry also holds a third-place finish at the Transylvania Invitational and a fourth-place finish at the Sewanee Invitational to its credit.

The Team Scholar All-American award is presented to college and university swimming & diving teams, who have achieved a team grade point average of 3.0 or higher. The award is presented twice annually, once in the fall semester and once in the spring semester. The CSCAA honors teams from each of the NCAA's three divisions, NAIA and NJCAA.

E&H will have its final dual meet of the season on Friday evening at 6:00 p.m. The Wasps will host King (Tenn.) University and Milligan College. Emory & Henry will honor its five senior swimmers prior the the start of the meet.
