Emory & Henry Swimming Competes In A Double-Dual Against Lenoir-Rhyne And Converse

HICKORY, N.C. – The Emory & Henry College Men's & Women's Swimming Teams returned to action on Saturday with a double-dual against Lenoir-Rhyne University and Converse University. The meet took place at the YMCA of Catawba Valley. The women's team earned five event wins while the men won two races.

The Men
- Junior Corey Kidd (Stockbridge, Ga.) won the 50-yard freestyle in 22.38 seconds and was second in the 100-yard butterfly (:54.51).
- Freshman Ryan Teuton (Chattanooga, Tenn.) placed first in the 100-yard backstroke with a time of 56.09 seconds and placed third in the 100-yard butterfly (:55.50).
- Sophomore Caleb Patton (Marion, Va.) earned a pair of third-place finishes in the 200-yard breaststroke (2:26.77) and the 200-yard individual medley (2:12.60). He was also fourth in the 100-yard backstroke, touching the wall in 1:00.77.
- Freshman Peter Davis (Manassas, Va.) placed fourth in both the 100- and 200-yard breaststroke at 1:06.67 and 2:32.02, respectively.
- Sophomore Max Betzer (Cumming, Ga.) swam a 2:01.58 in the 200-yard freestyle to take fourth while freshman Brady Jones (Bluefield, Va.) was fourth in the 50-free (:23.78).

The Women
- Junior Paige Gelenski (Boca Raton, Fla.) earned a pair of victories in the 200-yard butterfly (2:16.80) and the 200-yard individual medley (2:22.50) while also taking second in the 100-fly at 1:01.34.
- Sophomore Mackenzie Barnett (Monroe Township, N.J.) grabbed two wins on the afternoon, touching the wall first in the 100-yard freestyle at :56.05 and the 200-freestyle (2:00.85).
- Junior Hope Christensen (Moroni, Utah) claimed E&H's other win, stopping the watches at :25.83 in the 50-yard freestyle. She was also fourth in the 100-back (1:06.70).
- Sophomore Gabby Sadosky (Las Vegas, Nev.) finished third in the 100-free at 1:01.91 and was fourth in the 200-free (2:12.24).
- Junior Rachel Ritter (Gibsonville, N.C.) took fourth place in both breaststroke events, going a 1:16.49 in the 100 and a 2:44.11 in the 200.
- Junior Peyton Helscher (Simi Valley, Calif.) placed fourth in the 200-yard backstroke at 2:30.91 as freshman Jaxon Thurman (Ooltewah, Tenn.) was fourth in the 50-free (:28.75).
