Cody Skinner is in his seventh year as the Head Men's & Women's Swimming Coach at Emory & Henry College. He is the second women's swimming coach in program history and led the E&H men in their inaugural season in 2017-18.

In 2021, the women's team finished sixth at the ODAC Championships while the men's team continued its climb up the ODAC ranks to seventh. Skinner has previously led the Wasps' women's team to a pair of top-four finishes at the conference meet.

During the 2016-17 season, Skinner guided E&H to a third-place finish at the ODAC Championship and saw Michaela Nolte win both the 100-yard and 200-yard breaststroke and qualify for the NCAA Division III Swimming & Diving Championships.

Skinner came to Emory & Henry after spending two seasons as the Assistant Men's & Women's Swimming Coach at Union College in Schenectady, New York. During his time with the Dutchmen, Skinner assisted with on-deck coaching, equipment, travel coordination and recruiting. In those two seasons, he saw 12 school records broken and coached four NCAA Qualifiers and six All-Americans. He also assisted with Union's swimming camp and an Age Group Coach and Senior Group Coach with the Schenectady-Saratoga Swim Club. He currently serves as an Assistant Director of the Union College Swimming Camp, focusing on in-pool instruction.

In addition to working at Union, Skinner spent the summers of 2014 and 2015 at Kenyon College's Total Performance Sports Camp where he was responsible for running swimming practices including technique coaching. He has also worked for the Hudson Explorer's Aquatic Team and was an assistant coach for the Hudson High School (Ohio) swimming teams. Skinner also worked for seven years at the Maplewood Swim & Recreation Park in his hometown of Stow, Ohio.

Skinner also serves as the Head Swimming Coach for Special Olympics Virginia Area 10 and has guided several of his athletes to strong performances at the state level.

Skinner was a four-year letterwinner at Wilmington College in Wilmington, Ohio where he was a four-time Ohio Athletic Conference finalist in the 100-yard and 200-yard breaststroke and 500-yard freestyle. He completed his Bachelor of Arts degree in health promotions from Wilmington in 2013. He resides in Bristol, Tennessee with his wife, Lyndsay and their son, Evans.
