EMORY, Va. - The Bluefield College Women's Tennis Team won four straight matches to close the contest, coming away with a 5-4 victory over Emory & Henry College (4-6) Monday afternoon.
Emory & Henry led 2-1 after the doubles portion of the match. Sophomore Alyssa Wingate (Independence, Va.) and freshman Sarah Vishnev (Mooresville, N.C.) won 8-2 at number one doubles while sophomore Emily Bolt (Independence, Va.) and freshman Sheyenne Cleveland (Rural Retreat, Va.) got an 8-5 win at the second doubles flight.
In the singles portion of the competition, Wingate got a (6-0, 6-3) win at number one doubles while Cleveland was victorious, (6-1, 6-1) at the fourth singles spot.
Emory & Henry will host Ferrum College in non-conference play on Saturday at 11:00 a.m.
