Roanoke Women's Tennis Blanks Emory & Henry, 9-0, Monday In ODAC Action

SALEM, Va. - The Roanoke College Women's Tennis Team (6-2, 2-1 ODAC) picked up a 9-0 victory over Emory & Henry College (5-8, 1-4 ODAC) Monday afternoon in Old Dominion Athletic Conference action at the Elizabeth Campus Tennis Courts.

E&H sophomore Alyssa Wingate (Independence, Va.) went to a third-set tiebreak at number one singles but ended up losing the match by a (4-6, 6-3, 1-0 (8) ) score.

The Wasps third doubles flight of sophomore Casey Blackburn (Richmond, Va.) and freshman Izzy Cropp (New Orleans, La.) was the standout in the pairs portion of the competition, falling eight games to six.

Emory & Henry will return to the hardcourt on Saturday when it travels to Lynchburg to face the WildCats of Randolph College. First serve is set for 1:00 p.m.
