LYNCHBURG, Va. - The Randolph College Women's Tennis Team (5-4, 2-3 ODAC) picked up a 5-3 victory in Old Dominion Athletic Conference action over Emory & Henry College (5-9, 1-5 ODAC) Saturday afternoon at The Sports Racket of the campus of Liberty University.
Randolph got out to a 2-0 lead after the doubles portion of the competition. the third doubles match was not played due to a tornado warning in the Lynchburg area.
E&H picked up its three wins during singles play. Sophomore Alyssa Wingate (Independence, Va.) came away with a (7-6, 2-6, 1-0) win at number one singles while sophomore Casey Blackburn (Richmond, Va.) and freshman Izzy Cropp (New Orleans, La.) got three-set victories at the fifth and sixth singles flights, respectively.
Emory & Henry will return to the hardcourt on Friday when it plays host to Sweet Briar College at 5:00 p.m.
