GREENSBORO, N.C. - The Emory & Henry College Women's Tennis Team (1-0) defeated Greensboro College (0-1) to open their 2012-13 campaign Friday afternoon at War Memorial Stadium Tennis Courts.

In doubles play, the team of junior Emily Bolt (Independence, Va.) and freshman Meredith Yeary (Knoxville, Tenn.) picked up an 8-1 win at the number one pairing.

"Emily (Bolt) and Meredith (Yeary) communicated well (in their first doubles match as a team)," commented Head Coach Josh Parmenter after the match. "They're developing strong chemistry. That'll be important given the talented teams on our schedule."

Emory & Henry will host Maryville (Tenn.) College on Tuesday afternoon at 4:00 p.m. The contest will close out the fall portion of the season for the Wasps.
