HILTON HEAD ISLAND, S.C. – The John Carroll University Women's Tennis Team swept doubles and picked up a trio of singles wins as it defeated Emory & Henry College (3-2) by a 6-3 score Monday morning at Hilton Head HS. The contest was the first of four matches this week for the Wasps during their Spring Break trip.
Junior Alyssa Wingate (Independence, Va.) picked up 6-3, 6-3 win at number one singles while freshman Taylor Evans (Gate City, Va.) kept rolling with a 6-1, 6-0 victory at the No. 2 position.
Freshman Meredith Yeary (Knoxville, Tenn.) claimed the other win for the Wasps, a strong 6-1, 6-1 decision at the third singles flight.
