Sweet Briar Shuts Down Emory & Henry, 9-0, Wednesday Evening

Sweet Briar, Va. - The Wasps (2-6, 1-6 ODAC) took a 9-0 loss to the Sweet Briar College Vixens (6-11, 3-7 ODAC) Wednesday evening.  The loss is the team's fourth straight on the year.

At one doubles, Lauren Riner (Coeburn, Va.) and Danielle Amoruso (Orange County, Va.) played in a tough match, but ended up losing 8-6.  The pairing of Sheyenne Cleveland (Rural Retreat, Va.) and Kala Curtis (Locust Groves, Va.) were shut out at the two spot, 8-0.  The Wasps lost at the three doubles by default.

In Riner's first singles match at the first flight of her career, she fell by the score of 6-0, 6-1.  Cleveland was not able to win either, falling 6-2, 6-1.  Amoruso lost at the three spot 6-0, 6-2, while Alyssa Lambert (Pulaski, Va.) was shut out 6-0, 6-0.  Curtis was able to win one game, but ultimately fell 6-0, 6-1 at five singles.

The Wasps next match is tomorrow at home vs. Hollins University.
