Shenandoah Shuts Out the Wasps, 9-0, in Their Final Home Match of the Season

Emory, Va. – The Emory & Henry women's tennis team (2-8, 1-8 ODAC) fell once again in conference play Saturday afternoon in their home finale.  The team dropped the match vs. Shenandoah University (12-3, 6-3 ODAC) 9-0. The match marked the home finale for all of E&H athletics, as well.

At one doubles, Lauren Riner (Coeburn, Va.) and Danielle Amoruso (Orange County, Va.) went down 8-4 in a tough matchup.  Sheyenne Cleveland (Rural Retreat, Va.) and Kala Curtis (Locust Grove, Va.), however, could not win a set, going down 8-0.

Riner was at the number one singles spot today, as she fell 6-1, 6-0. Cleveland played in her final home match of her career for the Wasps.  The senior unfortunately lost at the two spot, 7-5, 6-1.  At three, Amoruso lost 6-3, 6-1.  While Curtis and Alyssa Lambert (Pulaski, Va.) were both defeated 6-0, 6-0 at five and six, respectively.

The Wasps' next match is tomorrow at 2 p.m. vs. Roanoke College.
