Wasps Drop Another Match in ODAC Play Against Roanoke, 5-0

Roanoke, Va. - The Emory & Henry women's tennis team (2-10, 1-10 ODAC) traveled to Roanoke, Virginia to face off against the Maroons of Roanoke College (14-5, 9-1 ODAC) Sunday afternoon.  Roanoke, who is second in ODAC standings, defeated the Wasps 5-0 in a match to decision.

In doubles play, Lauren Riner (Coeburn, Va.) and Danielle Amoruso (Orange County, Va.) were beat by a score of 8-3.  The two are still looking for their first win as doubles partners this season.  Sheyenne Cleveland (Rural Retreat, Va.) and Kala Curtis (Locust Groves, Va.) fell 8-0 at the two spot for the Wasps.  The three doubles match was deemed a win by deafult for the Maroons.

Alyssa Lambert (Pulaski, Va.) was the only competitor to finish her match in singles play, witht he junior falling 6-0, 6-0.  With the loss by default at the sixth flight, none of the other singles matches were finished.

The Wasps will look to end their 7 game losing streak in their season finale on Wednesday, April 22nd. The Wasps will go on the road to play Randolph-Macon College at 1 p.m.
