Emory, Va. - The number 13 ranked Generals of Washington and Lee (14-5, 9-0 ODAC) took out the Wasps (9-6, 5-4 ODAC), 6-3, Saturday afternoon.  The Generals, who are also ranked 5th in the region, remained undefeated in the ODAC with the victory.  Despite the loss, the Wasps are still holding onto a spot in the ODAC Tournament.

At one doubles, Sveva Mazzari (San Remo, ITALY) and Savanna Summers (Bluff City, Tn.) took a tough 8-2 loss.  It is only the second loss of the season for the tandem.  Both two doubles and three doubles were blanked, 8-0.

Mazzari had a highly anticpated matchup at one singles on the afternoon.  Although she did not get to play against W&L's top ranked player, Mazzari played against the 15th ranked player in the region.  Mazzari wound up beating her opponent, 6-2, 6-3.  Lauren Riner (Coeburn, Va.) fell at two singles, 6-0, 6-1.  Summers did not fare much better, losing, 6-1, 6-0.  Ana-Belen Gomez (Irving, Texas) went down, 6-0, 6-0, at four singles.  Due to not having enough players, Washington and Lee forfeited five and six singles.

The Wasps play in their final regular season match Sunday at 2 p.m. on the campus of Emory & Henry.
