Emory & Henry Women's Tennis Sweeps Johnson, 9-0, Saturday Afternoon

KNOXVILLE, Tenn. – The Emory & Henry women's tennis team (1-1, 0-0 ODAC) won their first match of the season after a trip to Knoxville, Tennessee as they took on Johnson University (1-1, 0-0). The Wasps pulled out a 9-0 sweep over the Royals on Saturday afternoon.

Doubles
-Lauren Riner (Coeburn, Va.) and Savanna Summers (Bluff City, Tenn.) defeated their opponents at one doubles, 8-2.
-Liz Graham (Bristol, Va.) and Bri Pierce (Purlear, N.C.) swept their two doubles counterparts, 8-0.
-Kaitlyn Sheaves (Staunton, Va.) and Katie Meade (Coeburn,, Va.) won at three doubles, 8-2.

Singles
-Riner won at one singles 6-0, 6-1.
-Graham defeated her opponent at two singles, 6-2, 6-3.
-Summers, at three singles, won, 6-2, 6-1.
-Meade took out her opponent, 6-3, 6-0.
-Sheaves also won, 6-2, 6-1.
-Kala Curtis (Locust Grove, Va.) closed out the match by winning, 6-2, 6-0.
