MILLIGAN COLLEGE, Tenn. – The Emory & Henry College Men's Tennis Team (1-3, 0-0 ODAC) took a 7-2 loss at Milligan (2-4, 0-0 AAC) on Sunday afternoon, while the women (2-3, 0-0 ODAC) fell in their match, 8-1, to the Buffaloes (2-4, 0-0 AAC).
MEN
Doubles
-Kamil Aliev (Moscow, RUSSIA) and Luke Funkhouser (Gate City, Va.) played in a tough match at one doubles. The pair wound up losing 9-8 (7-4).
-John Dalton Ferguson (Gate City, Va.) and Grayson McCarty (Marion, Va.) earned the lone doubles win with an 8-4 victory at two doubles.
-Jared Carter (Gate City, Va.) and James Watson-Dare (Charlotte, N.C.) were blanked 8-0 at three doubles
Singles
-Ferguson picked up his second victory on the day after defeating Milligan's number one player, 7-5, 6-3.
-Aliev fell, 6-1, 6-2, at two singles.
-Funkhouser would not go down without a fight on Sunday. Although he did lose the match, .he took his opponent to a third set, in which Funkhouser dropped, 6-3, 5-7, 18-16
-McCarty went down, 6-0, 6-1.
-Watson-Dare lost at five singles, 6-1, 6-0.
-Liam Davidson (Newport News, Va.), who played six singles, dropped his match, 6-1, 6-1
WOMEN
Doubles
-Lauren Riner (Coeburn, Va.) and Savanna Summers (Bluff City, Tenn.) started off the match with an 8-2 loss at one doubles.
-Liz Graham (Bristol, Va.) and Bri Pierce (Purlear, N.C.) took a tough 8-3 loss as a tandem.
-Kaitlyn Sheaves (Staunton, Va.) and Katie Meade (Coeburn,, Va.) also lost, 8-3, at three doubles.
Singles
-Riner fell at one singles, 6-1, 7-6.
-Graham played in a great match at two singles for the Wasps. She unfortunately fell, 6-2, 3-6, 10-7.
-Summers went down, 6-2, 6-3, at three singles.
-Kala Curtis (Locust Groves, Va.) took a tough, 6-1, 6-2, loss at four singles.
-Pierce earned the lone victory for the Wasps at five singles in a three-set match. Pierce defeated her opponent, 6-2, 3-6, 10-5.
-Kelsey Holt (Staffordsville, Va.) played at six singles, but fell, 6-0, 6-2.
