No. 16 Washington And Lee Shuts Out E&H Women's Tennis, 9-0, Saturday Afternoon

LEXINGTON, Va. - The Emory & Henry women's tennis team (2-4, 0-1 ODAC) was shut out in their first ODAC match of the season by number 16 ranked Washington and Lee Generals (6-0, 5-0 ODAC). The Generals are the defending ODAC champions, and have won the ODAC 13 times in a row. Last season, the Wasps fell 6-3 to the Generals in the regular season.

Doubles
-Lauren Riner (Coeburn, Va.) and Savanna Summers (Bluff City, Tenn.) took an 8-0 loss at one doubles.
-Ana-Belen Gomez (San Antonio, Texas) and Kala Curtis (Locust Groves, Va.) were only able to squeeze out one victory, as the pair lost, 8-1, at two doubles.
-Bri Pierce (Purlear, N.C.) and Kelsey Holt (Staffordsville, Va.) were shutout, 8-0, at three.

Singles
-Riner fell 6-0, 6-0, at one singles.
-Gomez saw the same fate at two singles.
-Summers went down, 6-1, 6-0, at three.
-Curtis was only able to earn one victory, also losing, 6-1, 6-0.
-Pierce was blanked, 6-0, 6-0, at five singles.
-Holt was not able to win in her match at six singles, falling, 6-0, 6-0.
