CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. – On Saturday evening, the Emory & Henry women's tennis team (2-6, 0-1) fell to Covenant College by the score of 7-2. The men (1-7, 0-1) also fell on the day, 9-0.
WOMEN
Doubles
-Lauren Riner (Coeburn, Va.) and Savanna Summers (Bluff City, Tenn.) were shut out at one doubles, 8-0.
- At two doubles, Liz Graham (Bristol, Va.) and Ana-Belen Gomez (San Antonio, Texas) took a tough 8-1 loss as partners.
-Kaitlyn Sheaves (Staunton, Va.) and Katie Meade (Coeburn,, Va.) put up a tough fight at three doubles, but lost, 8-4.
Singles
-Riner was swept 6-0, 6-0 at one singles.
-Graham took a 7-5, 6-0 loss at two singles.
-Summers lost 6-4, 7-5 at three singles.
-Gomez dropped her match, 6-2, 6-3, at four singles
-Meade earned the first victory of the day at five singles in a three-set match, winning 6-4, 3-6, 10-7.
-Sheaves also won, 7-6, 6-2, at six singles.
MEN
Doubles
-John Dalton Ferguson (Gate City, Va.) and Luke Funkhouser (Gate City, Va.) fell at one doubles, 8-1.
-Liam Davidson (Newport News, Va.) and James Watson-Dare (Charlotte, N.C.) teamed up at two doubles, but lost 8-3.
-Cooper Garrett (Gate City, Va.) and Dalton Shipley (Gate City, Va.) saw the same fate at three doubles, losing 8-3
Singles
-Ferguson was defeated 6-3, 6-4 at one singles.
-Funkhouser lost 6-1, 6-1 at two singles.
-Shipley was blanked 6-0, 6-0.
-At four singles, Andrew McClung (Roanoke, Va.) lost 6-2, 6-0.
-Davidson was unsuccessful at five singles, going down 6-4, 7-6
-At six, Jared Carter (Gate City, Va.) lost 6-3, 6-0.

Both the men and women will finish up their weekend road trip on Sunday at Greensboro.
