E&H Women's Tennis Drops ODAC Match To Randolph, 5-1, As Men Also Fall, 5-0, Sunday Afternoon

EMORY, Va. – On Sunday afternoon, the Emory & Henry women's tennis team (3-8, 0-3 ODAC) took a 5-1 loss at the hands of Randolph College (7-2, 4-1 ODAC). The men's team (2-9, 0-3 ODAC) also lost, 5-0, to Randolph College (6-3, 2-2 ODAC). Both matches were shortened due to weather.

WOMEN

Doubles
Liz Graham (Bristol, Va.)and Savanna Summers (Bluff City, Tenn.) played in a strong match at one doubles, but went down, 8-5.
- At two doubles, Lauren Riner (Coeburn, Va.) and Kala Curtis (Locust Grove, Va.) took a tough 8-1 loss as partners.
-Kaitlyn Sheaves (Staunton, Va.) and Katie Meade (Coeburn,, Va.) eeked out the only victory for the Wasps at three doubles. The duo won, 8-6. 

Singles
-Randolph's number one toppled Riner, 6-1, 6-2.
-Graham took a 6-0, 6-4 loss at two singles.
-Summers went down, 6-3, 6-1, at three singles.

MEN

Doubles
-Kamil Aliev (Moscow, RUSSIA) and Luke Funkhouser (Gate City, Va.) fell at one doubles, 8-3.
-John Dalton Ferguson (Gate City, Va.) and Grayson McCarty teamed up at two doubles in a tough matchup. But the two lost 8-6.
-Cooper Garrett (Gate City, Va.) and James Watson-Dare (Charlotte, N.C.) saw the same fate at three doubles, losing 8-3

Singles
-Ferguson was defeated 6-1, 6-2 at one singles.
-To close the match, Aliev lost, 6-3, 6-3.

UP NEXT
Both the men and women play Guilford at Home on April 1st at 1 p.m.
