Women's Tennis Wins Their Regular Season Finale, 5-4, Over Lynchburg, While Men Fall, 8-1, Saturday Evening

BRISTOL, Tenn. - The Emory & Henry women's tennis team (9-10, 6-5 ODAC) picked up a big 5-4 win in their regular season finale, Saturday evening, over Lynchburg College (8-10, 5-6 ODAC). The win gives the Wasps a winning record in ODAC play which will set them up nicely for the ODAC Tournament next week. The men's team (3-14, 1-8 ODAC) dropped their match versus Lynchburg (6-11, 4-6 ODAC), 8-1. 

WOMEN

Doubles
-Liz Graham (Bristol, Va.) and Lauren Riner (Coeburn, Va.) couldn't eek out a victory at one doubles, as they fell, 8-3.  
- At two doubles, Savanna Summers (Bluff City, Tenn.) and Bri Pierce (Purlear, N.C.) took out their opponents, 8-4.
-At three doubles, Kaitlyn Sheaves (Staunton, Va.) and Katie Meade (Coeburn, Va.) also picked up an 8-4 victory at three doubles.

Singles
-Riner loss, 6-1, 6-0, at one singles.
-Graham won, 6-1, 6-3, at two singles. 
-Summers was unable to get a victory in singles play, as she was defeated, 6-4, 6-3.
-Pierce earned an important victory at four singles in a 6-4, 6-3 match.
-Meade won in dominant fashion, 6-1, 6-1.
-Sheaves wasn't able to win, losing 6-2, 6-2, at six singles.

MEN

Doubles
-Kamil Aliev (Moscow, RUSSIA) and Luke Funkhouser (Gate City, Va.) lost at one doubles, 8-5.
-John Dalton Ferguson (Gate City, Va.) and Grayson McCarty (Marion, Va.) also fell at two doubles, 8-2.
-Liam Davidson (Newport News, Va.) and Jared Carter (Gate City, Va.) were dispatched, 8-2, at three doubles.

Singles
-Ferguson took a 6-2, 6-2 loss at one singles.
-Aliev picked up the only win of the day for the men's team at two singles, winning, 6-3, 6-2.
-At three singles, Funkhouser lost 6-3, 6-2.
-Shipley suffered an 8-0 loss at four singles.
-McCarty fell 8-1.
-James Watson-Dare (Charlotte, N.C.) was defeated, 6-0, 6-1, at six singles.
