#6 Wasps Suffer 5-3 Loss In  ODAC Tournament Quarterfinals At #3 Randolph, Wednesday

LYNCHBURG, Va. – In the first round of the ODAC tournament, the Emory & Henry women's tennis team (9-11, 6-5 ODAC) suffered a tough 5-3 loss at the hands of Randolph College (13-3, 9-2 ODAC). The loss effectively ends the season for the Emory & Henry women's tennis team.

WOMEN

Doubles
- Liz Graham (Bristol, Va.) and Lauren Riner (Coeburn, Va.) played in a strong match at one doubles, but went down, 8-5.
- At two doubles, Bri Pierce (Purlear, N.C.) and Savanna Summers (Bluff City, Tenn.) took a tough 8-1 loss as partners.
-Kaitlyn Sheaves (Staunton, Va.) and Katie Meade (Coeburn,, Va.) played in a long match at three doubles. The tandem wound up winning 9-8 (11-9) in a thrilling match. The two finished with a 10-5 record as partners.

Singles
-In the final match of her career, Riner went down, 6-0, 6-0 at one singles. Riner finished her career with 23 singles wins.
-Graham beat her counterpart at two singles, 6-3, 6-4.
-Summers could not eek out a win, losing, 6-0, 6-2.
-Pierce went down, 6-0, 6-0, in straight sets.
-Meade earned a 6-1, 7-6 victory at five singles, finishing the season with 10 singles wins.
-Sheaves was up in both sets when the match was called due to decision. Sheaves finished with a team-high 12-4 singles record. She also posted a 12-5 doubles record on the year, which was also a team-high.
