Emory & Henry Women's Tennis Comes Up Short, 6-3, To UVA-Wise Saturday At Home

EMORY, Va. - The Emory & Henry women's team (1-2) fell short in their match versus UVA-Wise (6-10) on Saturday afternoon. 

Doubles

  • Katie Meade (Coeburn, Va.) and Kaitlyn Sheaves (Staunton, Va.) took a tough shut out loss at one doubles.
  • Bri Pierce (Purlear, N.C.) and Kala Curtis (Locust Grove, Va.) were also shut out at one doubles, 8-0.
  • Three doubles was forfeited to the Wasps

Singles

  • Meade took a tough 6-0, 6-0 loss at one singles.
  • Curtis was not able to pick up a win, losing 6-0, 6-0.
  • Sheaves went down 6-3, 6-3 at three singles.
  • Pierce picked up a big win at four singles. She won 7-6, 6-3.
  • Ellington King (Versailles, Ky.) took a 6-1, 6-4 loss at five singles.
  • Six singles was forfeited to the Wasps.

The Wasps will be in action next Saturday, March 10th at home vs. Washington and Lee.
