Women's Tennis Suffers Setback At Ferrum, 6-3, Friday Afternoon

FERRUM, Va. - The Emory & Henry women's team (2-4, 0-1 ODAC) suffered a tough 6-3 loss on the road vs. Ferrum on Friday afternoon. The match was the first of three straight days of matches for the Wasps. 

Doubles

The doubles teams all took tough losses to the Panthers of Ferrum College. The number one team fell, 8-2. The number two squad lost, 8-5. While there was an 8-1 loss at three doubles. 

Singles

  • The top two seeds were not able to pick up victories in singles for Emory & Henry. However, the three through five seeds were able to pick up key victories. At three singles, Tessa Johnston (High Point, N.C.) won by a score of 6-4, 6-2. 
  • Kaiti Sheaves (Staunton, Va.) won 8-5 at four singles.
  • Bri Pierce (Purlear, N.C.) cruised by her opponent at five singles with a score of 6-0, 6-3.

The Wasps will be in action tomorrow at Randolph College.
