Emory & Henry Suffered A Setback In ODAC Play At Hollins, 8-1, Friday Afternoon

ROANOKE, Va. - The women's tennis team (3-7, 0-4 ODAC) dropped a tough ODAC match at Hollins University on Friday Afternoon. The Wasps loss is the fourth loss in conference play on the season.

Doubles

  • Katie Meade (Coeburn, Va.) and Kaitlyn Sheaves (Staunton, Va.) played strong, but lost, 8-4.
  • Bri Pierce (Purlear, N.C.) and Ellington King (Versailles, Ky.) were downed 8-1 at two doubles.
  • Three doubles were also dismantled by a score of 8-1 at three doubles.

Singles

  • One, two, and three singles all suffered tough losses.
  • Pierce picked up the lone victory for the Wasps, as she defeated her opponent, 6-3, 6-1. 
  • Five and six singles also were defeated on the day by scores of 6-4, 6-0, and 6-0, 6-0, respectively..
